“Dr. B” is a clinical psychologist licensed in the states of Ohio (#6891) and Colorado (#3861). She has specialized in the scientific study and treatment of eating disorders and related psychological conditions for over 15 years.

Dr. B completed her undergraduate and graduate studies in the Department of Psychological Sciences at Case Western Reserve University. She then completed a clinical residency and postdoctoral research/clinical fellowship at Children’s Hospital Colorado where a specific expertise in pediatrics was developed. She is extensively trained in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), which she uses to treat anxiety disorders, mood disorders, body image disturbances and self-esteem issues across the developmental spectrum. Dr. B has a faculty appointment in the Department of Psychological Sciences at Case Western Reserve University where she provides clinical training and supervision to doctoral level graduate students. She is a consulting psychologist at Laurel School / Laurel Center for Research on Girls. Former leadership positions include serving as the National Director of ResearchPractice Integration for a large, multisite agency specializing in residential and intensive eating disorder treatment programs and Clinical Director of the Eating Disorders Program at a local children’s hospital. She is 1 of 2 therapists listed in the state of Ohio as being formally certified in Maudsley Family-Based Treatment (FBT) through the Training Institute for Child and Adolescent Eating Disorders. Dr. B provides national and international professional training and consultation services to clinicians, schools and outside agencies. Her work has been published and cited in peer-reviewed journals and books; and she has presented at multiple national and international conferences. In 2018, Dr. B was named a Fellow in the Academy for Eating Disorders; a prestigious honor given in recognition of her “distinguished contributions to the field of eating disorders.” She is currently serving a three-year term on the Board of Directors in the Academy for Eating Disorders and she is a member of the American Psychological Association, Ohio Psychological Association and the Cleveland Psychological Association.

On a personal note, Dr. B is an avid Cleveland fan. She enjoys spending time with her family, which includes three rambunctious children of her own! Dr. B’s hobbies include singing, traveling and reading. She admittedly “forces” herself to watch reality TV shows…only, of course, because she must stay current when working with children and adolescents. :)
